Is it deep through the section or only surface deep? The answer to those questions decides which resin you reach for. There isn't one universal injection material that fits every situation, no matter what some contractors will tell you.
When the job is structural — a real load-bearing column or a beam that needs its strength back — epoxy is what you want. The cured bond between epoxy and properly prepared concrete is stronger than the concrete itself, which means the repair becomes the strongest part of the section rather than the weakest. The catch in Saudi conditions is the heat. Standard epoxy cures too quickly when ambient temperatures push past 40°C, which they do across most of the Kingdom for half the year. We always specify summer-grade epoxies with extended pot life, otherwise the resin sets up before it reaches the back of the crack and you get a partial repair that fails six months later.
Acrylic gels have viscosity close to water itself. They go where other materials cannot. We use them most often on the hairline cracks you see in commercial buildings across the Najd region — the kind of cracks that open and close slightly with the daily temperature swing between night and day. Because the cured gel stays flexible, it moves with the structure instead of fighting it. The same crack patched with rigid epoxy would split open again within a year. With acrylic gel, it stays sealed.
For a basement that's actively dripping water or a tank wall that's wet on the inside face, polyurethane foam is what stops the bleeding. PU reacts with the water itself, expanding three to four times its volume on contact and sealing the path. We use this constantly in coastal Jeddah and the Eastern Province where saline groundwater pushes through any opening it can find. It's also our go-to for underground car park waterproofing where conventional repair methods can't keep up with active flow.
A foundation raft 1.5 metres deep takes a lot more material than a 25 cm interior wall. The void you're filling is the biggest single cost driver, and there's no shortcut around it.
Specialized acrylic gels and SFDA-approved potable water resins cost noticeably more than standard PU foams. The job dictates which one you need.
Working in cramped basements or at height on Riyadh towers requires confined-space or rope-access protocols. Both add cost. Both are non-negotiable for safety.
